RE: PPP Program On The Information-Dissemination Campaigns On Dengue Mosquitoes
This Public-Private Partnership Program on the information-dissemination campaigns on the Prevention & Control Of Dengue Mosquitoes through seminar-demonstration in your barangay per Health Circular 155 as strengthened by Presidential Proclamation 990 and expanded further by Presidential Proclamation 2063; DILG Memorandum Circular 2003-186 [Environmental Pest Abatement Maintenance Program]; Presidential Decree 856 [Sanitation Code] and 1086 [Building Code], Republic Act 7459 [Inventors & Invention Incentive Act] and 9003 [New Solid Waste Management Act]; and Presidential Proclamation 1204 [Dengue Awareness Month].
We successfully did this kind of partnership between the Rotary International, DOH, MAPECON Philippines, Inc. and NCUPC with barangays in Metro Manila through the Rotary Foundation Grant No. 97-6 in 1998 and in 2003. And we want to undertake the same but more intensive and participative activity through your constituents [SK/ other youth organizations, mother club, etc.] as participants so that these mosquito-borne diseases will, once and for all, be eliminated.
The general objective of this one-hour activity is to provide your constituents with the basic information on mosquitoes and skills on how to prevent and control them with the end in view of mobilizing them to get actively involved in the Operation Kiti-kiti [OK] and Kontra Kiti-kiti [KKK] in their respective areas in community as volunteers. There will be demonstration on how to prepare ovi-traps and adult for mosquitoes. As partners, your barangay shall provide the venue for the seminar that could accommodate your constituent-participants, a sound system, and a white screen; and the NCUPC and MAPECON, aside from coming out with this program, shall provide the LCD, certificates of participation, speakers, and shall act as the seminar secretariat. Attached please find the Proposed Program and pertinent documents for your information.
